Dr. Earl Bennett on the Silver Valley

Dr. Earl Bennett

Dr. Earl Bennett, the dean emeritus of the former College of Mines at the University of Idaho, has written extensively about the history of the Coeur d’Alene mining district and the Silver Valley, and about the geology of the region.  One recent piece of his scholarship on those subjects was created for a meeting of the Idaho State Historical Society, of which he is a trustee, held in Wallace, Idaho earlier this year.  The piece is an interesting and useful backdrop to the program about the Silver Valley pollution and clean-up cases, but is not specifically focused upon the legal cases that will be discussed in that program.  We thank Dean Bennett for his willingness to share this publication with the conference attendees.
